South Africa retains AACT Championship Trophy
The South African Team of Lumien Orton, Tiffany Avern-Taplin and Henriette Frylinck successfully defended the All African Challenge Trophy championship played in Abuja, Nigeria this week. Henriette won the Individual Championship.
Yvette wins inagrural SPAR Mid Amateur by nine strokes
+1 Handicapped Yvette du Plessis teed up with a the benefit of a seven shot cushion in the final of the inaugural Spar SA Ladies Mid Amateur played at Kingswood Golf Estate this week and won the event by nine shots on 222 (73, 75, 73).

Val goes the extra mile for Mid Amateur
Seventy one golfers teed off in the inaugural SA Mid Amateur Championships at the picturesque but challenging Kingwood Golf Estate today. The event was organised by WGSA Coach and Kingswood Golf Estate Director, Val Holland pictured here welcoming players and guests at the opening function. Former South African champions Yvette du Plessis (73) and Gilly Tebbutt (78) lead the field together with Sonja Bland (77) and will play in the leading group in the Championship Division.
SA defends All Africa Challenge Trophy in Abuja, Nigeria
Three top South African golfers, Tiffany Avern-Taplin, Henriëtte Frylinck and Lumien Orton, will represent South Africa at the All African Challenge Trophy (AACT) which celebrates its 10th anniversary this week in Abuja, Nigeria. South Africa won the previous championship when it was played in Cairo in 2008.
Lee-Anne Wins second title in China
UZHOU (China) Oct 31, 2010: South Africa's Lee-Anne Pace had the best two weeks in China as she picked up her second victory by winning the Eur200,000 Suzhou-Taihu Ladies Open after being involved in a four-way playoff with USA's Hannah Jun, Paraguay's Julieta Granada and Netherlands' Christel Boeljon at the Suzhou-Taihu International Golf Club.
Lee-Anne wins fourth LET event this year and tops the Money List
South Africa's Lee-Anne Pace returned to the summit of European women's golf today when she shot a six-under-par 66 to win the Sanya Ladies Open in China.

Buenos Aires, Argentina (23 October) – Korea broke the record for the lowest score and won the 2010 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship by 17 strokes over the USA to claim its second Espirito Santo Trophy at Olivos Golf Club.
The South African team of Connie Chen, Kelli Shean and Kim Williams finish tied third with Sweden and France.
SA girls strive to improve on 4th position as they head to final round
Val Holland comments "We are in 4th spot on our own on 8 under with Germany on 9 under and USA on 12 under, the Koreans are just amazing 25 under par - their individual scores are 11 under, 11under & 7 under."
Record-Setting Korea Powers Past USA To Second-Round Lead
Korea fired a record-setting 16-under-par 128 to surge into the lead by one stroke over first-round leader USA in the second round of the 2010 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship while South Africa is tied fifth at the half-way stage of the event.
Kelli has hole-in-one at fifth
News just in from Buenos Aires (5.30 pm South African time) is that Kelli Shean aced her tee-shot at the par 3 fifth hole during the second round of the World Amateur Teams Championship being played at the Buenos Aires Golf club.

USA Opens 4-Stroke Lead while the South Africans are tied fourth
Buenos Aires, Argentina (20 October) – The USA forged a four-stroke lead over Argentina and France with a record-setting 8-under-par 136 in the first round of the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. The South African team are six strokes back on -2 and tied in fourth position - Kelli Shean carded 70 (-2) and Kim Williams finished on even par 72.
SA Teams tees off in WATC today
The SA Team of Sandra Winter (Captain), Connie Chen, Kim Williams and Kelli Shean enjoy the opening ceremony which took place yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 19 October). The SA Girls tee off today at 10h40 at the Olivos Golf Club.
Monique Smit returns to golf to win at Clovelly
Southern Cape's Monique Smit returned to tournament golf after a break to win the 54 hole Gus Ackerman Trophy played at Clovelly Country Club on Saturday and Sunday. She won on the second play-off hole against Eastern Cape's Iliska Verwey after both players carded one-over par 217.

Ambition Argentina Team meets in Buenos Aires
Val Holland (coach), Sandra Winter (Captain) and players Connie Chen, Kim Williams and Kelli Shean all arrived safely in Buenos Aires yesterday to compete in the 2010 World Amateur Team Championships for the Espirito Santo Trophy.
The Bredenhann Ladies carry home the Silver to Namibia
Bonita Bredenhann and her mother Wilna made history at the final of the Boland Match Play Championships when they won the A and B Divisions to take all the silverware back to Namibia.
