Daisies make it four years in a row!

Although expected to take the 50th Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial trophy home, the victorious Gauteng North Daisies totally overwhelmed runners-up, North West with a 8 -1 win on the final day, losing only one foursomes when Nicole Becker and Bertine Strauss beat Kim Williams and Henriette Frylinck 4/3.

For the fourth year in a row, North West face neighbours Gauteng North on the final day of the Pick n Pay SA Women’s Inter-Provincial championships being played at the beautiful Irene Country Club in Pretoria. Lynn Slogrove wins SA Seniors Championship

Lynn Slogrove

Humewood and EP's Lynn Slogrove won the SA Senior Ladies Championships 2010 when the event was played at West Bank and East London golf clubs this week. The six-handicapped veteran carded 169 (83, 86) to pick up the trophy by one stroke from Langebaan's Sonja Kruger on 170 (89, 81).

The stableford event was won by Milnerton's Jo Elves with 72 points over the two rounds.

Connie is girls’ runner-up at Duke of York

South Africa's Connie Chen tied 10th and was the second best girl on 228 (76, 81, 71) at the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy played at Royal St Georges Golf Club last week. The other South African participant, Brandon Stone finished T19 on 232.

Connie was selected to play in the event when she won the Nomads SA Girls Championships at Orkney earlier this year.

For the second year in a row the Girls’ British open amateur championship has been won by a French player. Alexandra Bonetti, 18, from Paris and holder of the French women’s championship, followed in the footsteps of compatriot Perrine Delacour by winning the title at Royal Belfast Golf club last week. South Africa's Connie Chen and Lara Weinstein qualified for the match play but both lost in the first round.
