Paarl Golf Club's Anneke Lohbauer topped the women's prizes when she was both the A Division and also the overall Women's Champion at the Sanlam Cancer Challenge Final played at San Lameer Golf Club last weekend. Nandi Scorer, Sanlam's Head Group Marketing hands Anneke her the trophy.

Playing in only her third championship this year Oubaai’s Monique Smit carded a three over par total 219, with rounds of 71, 72 & 76 to claim victory in the 29th 54 Hole Gus, Raymond & Jonathan Ackerman Championships played at Mowbray Golf Club 17-18 October 2009.

Top ranked Kim Williams pulled off the double at the Nomads Boland Championships which was played at Kuilsriver golf course this week. In the strokeplay event which was reduced to 27 holes due to inclement weather, she carded 106, three strokes ahead of KZN's Johmari Logtenberg on 109 and Lumien Orton (Free State) on 110. On Wednesday she claimed the match play title with a 4/3 victory over Lumien Orton.

Women's Golf South Africa left its name on the fairways of Paarl Golf Club by donating a tree to the club during the recent Pick n Pay Inter-Provincial tournament.

The IOC decided to include golf as an Olympic sport as from the 2016 Olympic Games.

It was announced this afternoon, Friday 9 October by the International Olympic Committee that Golf has been accepted as an Olympic Sport. This is great news and we look forward to seeing our South Africans participating in 2016 in Rio - and winning!

Lying second playing the 16th hole in the final round of the Turkish Open Amateur Championships at the Gloria Golf Club, Kim Williams dropped three shorts on the last two holes to finish in fifth position in this international field.

The Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey is one of the venues for the 2012 World Amateur Team Championship. It is a golf course carved out of a forest of pine trees. Where the trees have been removed pristine fairways, greens and bunkers exist.

Kim Williams played solid golf in the third round of the Turkish Open Amateur Championships being played at Antlaya, Belek this week and her 74 moved her up to tied fifth on the leaderboard.

The South African amateur golf team won the 72 hole stroke play African Amateur Golf Team Championships on Friday and in so doing continued their unbeaten record in Africa’s premier annual team golf competition.

After lying seventh in round one, Kim Williams is in eighth position at the half way mark, while defending champion Ashleigh Holmes is 14th on the leader board.

South Africa retained the lead after the third and penultimate round of the 72 hole stroke play African Amateur Golf Team Championships being played at Dreamland Golf Club, Cairo, Eygpt on Thursday. However it was reduced to seven shots thanks to a determined challenge put up by the Kenyan team.
