Daisies edge ahead in the foursomes on final day
As players headed out to play their singles matches at Paarl this afternoon, the Gauteng North Daisies edged ahead of North West when they picked up one match and halved the other two in the fouyrsomes. While their fellow team members all halved matches, Mareli Joubert and Connie Chen had a good 5/3 win over Elru Botha and Tirsa Matthyssen in the A Division of the SA Women's Inter-Provincial.

Kim and Yvette share honours at Pick n Pay Interprovincial
WGSA top ranked Kim Williams and SA Stroke play champion Yvette du Plessis shared the honours today when they both carded 68, four under par, in the afternoon singles at the Pick n Pay SA Women's Inter-Provincial. The event was played at Paarl Golf Club in overcast conditions with a cold westerly breeze picking up during the afternoon round.
Kelli finishes well in her first LPGA event
Tied for 27th in her first LPGA tournament, South Africa's Kelli Shea finished one under par
on 212 (76,67,69) and can look back at this event with much pride. The 150 man field included 27 of the world's top 30 golfers and South Africa's Ashleigh Simon.

Gauteng North A (Daisies) look set to win the Pick n Pay SA Inter-Provincial for the third consecutive year, with four of their players ranked in the top five in the country.
Mareli and Gina represent Tuks at Student Match Play Championships
The Students Matchplay Championships was held for the fourth time on June 19-20, 2009 on the Wittelsbacher GC Rohrenfeld-Neuburg Championchip Course of HRH Duke Max of Bavaria north of Munich/Germany. Two of SA's top ranked players, Mareli Joubert and Gina Switala represented Pretoria University.

At a glittering party to celebrate her 60th birthday in Cape Town last night, WGSA President Erica Lefson and her partner Johann Coetzee surprised their guests with a wedding ceremony.

Kim Williams' win at the Southern Cape Championships last weekend took her to the top of the WGSA Amateur Ranking.
Millie and Admund win the prizes in Paris!
East London Golf Club's Millie Zim and George Golf Club's Admund Gelderbloem went to Paris to defend the SA title at the Peugeot International Pro-Am Finals from 23 to 28 August - and did exactly that. They brought back the trophy and lots of prizes.
Kim is 2009 Southern Cape Stroke Play Champion
Centurion's Kim Williams played the low round of the tournament - two under par 70 - to finish on even par 144 and pick up the Southern Cape Championship at George Golf Club on Saturday 29 August.

Perrine Delacour from Ailette Golf Club, north of Reims, is the new British girls’ open amateur champion.
England v France in this afternoon’s British Girls’ Final at West Lancs
Two 15-year-olds, Elizabeth Mallett from Sutton Coldfield and France's Perrine Delacour from Ailette Golf Club, north of Reims, will meet in this afternoon's 18-hole final of the British Girls' Open Amateur Championship at West Lancashire Golf Club.
In this morning's semi-finals, Perrine beat the other surviving English 15-year-old, Alexandra Peters (Notts Ladies) by one hole while Elizabeth scored a tremendous win over 18-year-old French ace, Rosanne Crepiat, who plays for Europe in next week's Junior Solheim Cup match, is No 8 in the European women's amateur rankings and won the Portuguese women's international title in January.
SA Girls experience real links golf in the UK
Three South African Juniors, Bertine Strauss, Connie Chen and Yushira Budhram played the first round of the Girls' British Open Amateur at West Lancashire Golf Club in Liverpool yesterday. According to Manager Erica Lefson, West Lancashire is a links course in the true sense of the word. The course has been lengthened to the men's yellow tees - really long - playing 6324 yds at sea level.
Bertine had the best round of the three, finishing on five over 77.
Connie and Bertine make the cut at Girls British Champs
Connie Chen carded a 79 on day two of the Girls British Open Amateur to qualify for the match play on +13. Bertine Strauss however had to wait until late in the day and a playoff to ensure that she too made the cut.
Connie finishes in ninth place at the Harder Junior Masters
On the final day of the Harder Junior Masters being played at Golfclub Heddeshein, Gut Neuzenhof, teeing off in the second last group and lying tied third, Connie Chen turned three over. However after the 12 hole in the extremely hot conditions, she lost concentration and dropped a further four shots to card 79 and finish tied ninth - a good performance on her first visit to Europe.

South Africa's 16-year old Connie Chen scored 72 on day two of the Harder German Junior Masters, taking her to third place going into the final day today. She carded a 74 on day one.
SA Juniors head off to Harder German Junior Masters
A South African junior team of Yushira Budhram, Bertine Strauss and Connie Chen arrived in Frankfurt yesterday to compete in the Harder German Junior Masters and next week will travel to Liverpool to compete in the Girls British Open Amateur Championships.
Tanya Tibshraeny wins Hemingways EC and Border Champs
Kirkwood Golf Club's Tanya Tibshraeny won the EC and Border Championships played at Port Alfred Golf Club this week on 154 (78, 76) one stroke ahead of Yolanda Duma on 155.

Ambition Argentina 2010 kicks off at KeNako
The launch of the KeNako Golf Academy in George offered the SA Women's Squad a great opportunity to prepare for a successful WATC in Argentina next year. Nine players attended their first training camp at the Academy this week and were able to engage with high quality professionals in each of the three essential disciplines - physical fitness, mental strength and technical skills - all under one roof.
SAGA appoints Albatros to manage amateur handicaps in 2010
The South African Golf Association (SAGA) and Women's Golf South Africa (WGSA) has awarded Albatros Golf Solutions (Albatros) the Central Handicap Server tender, it was announced yesterday.
