R&A Rules School Results released (photos available)
Two weeks ago the R&A sent the Chairman of the R&A Rules Committee, a member of their Rules Committee, and their Assistant Director of Rules to South Africa to run "R&A Rule Schools" in Benoni and Cape Town.Both venues were fantastic and a combined delegation of 150 people attended. Much was learnt by all over the two day duration of each Rules School but most people's main focus was the Rules Exam which was held on the second morning. These Results are available from the South African Golf Association offices as of this morning.

Blaauw Finishes a creditable 18th in English Amateur
Jacques Blaauw, the current SA Stroke Play and Glacier SA Amateur Champion, finished 18th, with a 54 hole total of 211, five under par, in the English Men's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship (Brabazon Trophy) which concluded yesterday. Blaauw, of Paarl Golf Club, had rounds of 70, 71 and 70.
Ford replaces Frittelli in SA Team
Dylan Frittelli has withdrawn from the Protea Team to play France and has been replaced by Adrian Ford, the South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced.
Inaugural SA Mid Amateur Championship draw available
The Inaugural SA Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship will take place next week at De Zalze. The event will be played over 72 holes with 18 holes on Wednesday and Thursday and 36 holes on Friday.

SA take Zone VI in dominant fashion
It was not a clean sweep but nonetheless a dominating performance by the South Africans today, winning six of their eight matches, halving one and losing another in the final round of the Zone VI played at Ndola Golf Club, Zambia.South Africa won the event with a total of 22.5 points, out of a possible 24, 8 points clear of their nearest rivals Zimbabwe.

103 rules enthusiasts, the highest number ever, have enrolled to participate in the prestigious two day R&A Rules of Golf School, to be held this weekend, commencing on Saturday 26 April, at Benoni Country Club.
SA on target for a clean sweep
After another successful day, winning all their matches, the South African amateur golf team are upbeat about their chances of winning their remaining eight games tomorrow and, for the first time in four years, walk way with the Zone VI Trophy having not dropped a point.
SA Team to play France Announced
Four players have been selected to play France in a test match to be played on the 2nd and 3rd of June at the Chantilly Golf Club, north of Paris, France, the South African Golf Association (SAGA) announced today. The Protea team is Derik Ferreira, Dylan Frittelli, Ryan Clarke and Jacques Blaauw. "These are arguably our top four performing amateurs currently," said SAGA President, Neale Kunhardt.
SA Win all first round matches
South Africa started there defence of the Zone VI title in the best possible way winning all eight singles matches in the first round played yesterday at Ndola Golf Club, in the Zambian copper belt situated in the northern part of the country.

Twelve teams of eight did their final preparation for the SAGA U/23 Interprovincial to be held this week at Rustenburg Golf Club. The teams arrived on Saturday afternoon and got ready for a week of intense matchplay.

Eight of South Africa's top amateur golfers will take on the best of Africa's amateur golfers in the African Zone VI, a team competition being played at Ndola Golf Club, Zambia from 22 to 24 April 2008.
Johnston holds on to win Cape Province Open
Cameron Johnston, a member of Milnerton and stalwart of the Western Province Inter-Provincial team, played superb golf over the weekend to lift the trophy at the Cape Province Amateur. With consistently good rounds of 69-69-68 (10 under par), he held onto the lead to claim the win, by 2 shots, from Johan de Beer of Pretoria.

Cream rises to the top at Cape Province Open
At the end of the 2nd round of the Cape Province Open a host of South Africa's top amateurs remain in the hunt.
Cameron Johnston and Johan de Beer moved into a tie for the lead on six under par, two shots ahead of Lyle Rowe who in turn is two shots in front of Johan du Buisson and Adrian Ford.

Kelapile takes the lead in George
Alpheus Kelapile opened with a 4 under par 68 at George Golf club to take a one shot lead into the second round of the 2008 Cape Province Open.
The first round of play was only completed early this morning due to slow play and fading light on the first day but this didnt hinder the top amateurs ability to post good scores.
