SA teams set for ground-breaking test in India
South Africa’s Senior and Mid-Amateur teams have thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent hospitality from the Indian Golf Union since their arrival in India on Tuesday, but the two four-man sides are ready for the gloves to come off when the ground-breaking Golf Test Series tees off at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club today.

The South African golfing community is reeling with shock at the unexpected passing of one of its most passionate administrators, Mellette Hendrikse.
“Mellette was extremely well known and respected, both as a player and golf administrator, and we were incredibly saddened to learn that he passed away after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday afternoon,” said South African Golf Association acting president Geoff Taylor.

Shaun Stapleton put the finishing touches on his prep for the upcoming SA Mid-Amateur Test against India with a superb one shot victory in the inaugural Bobby Locke Open at Parkview Golf Club.
The Wanderers golfer opened with a 70 in the weather-hit first round on Monday and carded a 69 in the second round to pull within two shots of the 36-hole leader Garrick Higgo.
On Wednesday morning, Stapleton overhauled the rising star from Boland with another 70 in the third round and he followed with an even-par 72 in the afternoon to secure victory at seven under 281.
SA amateurs do SA proud
