The country’s leading senior amateurs will flock to Fancourt in George this October for the annual Indwe Risk Services Senior Amateur Open Championship. Defending champion Mellette Hendrikse will be hunting an Indwe Risk Services Senior Open double and two-time champion Jock Wellington will pursue his third championship victory at Africa’s premier golfing resort from 23-25 October.

Superb Gauteng North triumph at SA IPT
Ekurhuleni celebrated a hard-earned promotion, but their joy was overshadowed by the utter elation and delight of the Gauteng North team, who ended a 29 year winning drought with an outstanding performance at the 2013 South African Inter-Provincial at Rustenburg Golf Club. The 2013 champions ended their campaign in terrific style by handing KwaZulu-Natal a decisive 9.5 – 2.5 drubbing in the final round on Friday, to put the seal on an unbeaten record in the week-long premier team championship, sponsored by Tempest.

The Western Cape's Tristan Galant lifted the Nomads South African Under-13 Championship title at the Fish River Sun Country Club. The SAGDB learner from Belhar carded rounds of 75-73-71 to win by four shots. Southern Cape combined for a final round 363 to win the team competition.

To reach the end goal, the local favourites will have to get six very determined and confident opponents, including Border, Eastern Province, Ekurhuleni, Free State & Northern Cape, Mpumalanga and 2012 wooden spoon recipient Limpopo, who was relegated in Port Elizabeth last year.
