SA in touch at weather-beaten Spirit International
Fierce storms, more than 160mm in rainfall and a 25½-hour interruption to the first round had very little impact on the South Africa’s four-man team at this year’s Spirit International in Texas. When darkness fell on the first round of play, the local heroes had pacesetters America well in their sights.
Spirit shortened to 54 holes
Organisers at the Spirit International were forced to shorten this year’s championship to 54 holes following more than 160mm rainfall at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Wednesday’s first round.
Schwartzel headlines for SA at 103rd SA Open
The South African Open Championship will celebrate its 103rd playing with 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel leading the South African challenge at Glendower Golf Club from 21-24 November 2013.
The former Freddie Tait Cup winner is the main draw card in the first counting event on The 2014 European Tour International Schedule 2014 alongside world number four and defending champion, Henrik Stenson, and Schwartzel hopes to start the season on a winning note.

SA Spirit team primed for US challenge
South Africa’s Spirit International team are primed for the challenge ahead of their departure for the United States on Friday.
